My Twin

I am continually freaked out by how much Adaliah looks like my baby pictures. Her blue eyes, button nose, little mouth, and sharp chin…sorry Dali..you are your mothers clone.

ps- Dali got her 2nd tooth. What in the world....

pss- Sorry about my background right now... I would tell you that I'm going to fix it ASAP, but I'm not. Pete, Adaliah, and I are leaving for Cali in the morning! Yay for family vacation!

"Wow- what a big baby!"

Things I hear while walking through the grocery store, at church, at the pool…ext

“Look at those cheeks!”

“What are you feeding that baby?!”

Or even better- “what are you eating?” (Like I load up on hamburgers and milkshakes every meal and pass it to her through my fatty greasy milk or something?)

“Look at those rolls”

“Chubby babies are my favorite”

My Favorite – the girl at Deseret Book- “Your baby is fat.” ….Thank you? Haha

The stories go on an on...

Some people prefer the “she looks like…” game. So here are some of her look-alikes according to everyone...

Gatta love it- I love every ounce of her 100th percentile weight. She’s my little princess.

1st tooth!

Adaliah has her 1st tooth! We noticed on Monday after it had already broken through the gums. Oh my word! My baby has a tooth! Crazy!!!!

5 months

Dali is still such a happy, smiley, content, lovable, healthy baby. We feel so blessed! Here are a few things I don’t want to forget:

1st- Dali is sitting up!! She started at the beginning of July and she has been getting better and better at it. What a big girl! She will sit straight up for a few seconds then she starts to slouch over a little.. but she loves it.

2nd- Dali is big enough to do sit up things…this is so exciting to me. For example: Shopping Carts, High Chairs, Swings…

3rd-Dali Loves books- she’s pretty good at turning pages

4th- Dali grabs anything and everything out of my hand and off surfaces close by. I’ve learned I have to be careful!

5th- Dali loves the outdoors. If she’s fussy I’ll just take her outside and she calms right down. She loves to go swimming too. We’ll be out there for 1 or 2 hours and she is so content the whole time…what a sweetheart.

6th- She loves to gasp (Like inhaling), scream (a happy scream), and she’s starting to blow raspberries.

7th- We made up a song for Adaliah and she loves it. We sing it to her when she’s crying in the car- and every time without fail she stops crying right away so she can hear it. She smiles and giggles when we sing it to her when we’re playing…so cute.
8th- she can drink PowerAde right out of the bottle. Okay…not really…

Last of all…drum roll please….

She can do this…

Say what? Yeah. Pete keeps trying new things with her, and she keeps loving it. My sister Anne was walking with furniture at 6 ½ months and walking alone by 7. My mom said it was impossible to discipline a walking 7 month old baby getting into everything…

So I say…SLOW DOWN…be a baby for awhile Adaliah. But we love our girl! She brings so much joy into our home!! What did we ever do without our angel?!
ps- below is a "Catch-Up" post if your're interested ...

Okay..it's been a month

My life:

Confession: I think I was addicted to the Internet. Between Facebook and Blogging I was on the computer…way too much. So I made a goal I wouldn’t get on as much! Yeah….didn’t work. So then I deleted my facebook account. No you didn’t...Oh yes I did! It’s been almost a month now and I am wondering how I ever had time for it. I have stayed busy busy busy doing fun, exciting, productive things.

Now I can’t even find the time to blog. I love my new life of not being an internet-holic.
But for journaling purposes I have decided to catch up:

Ackerman's Summer:

Mainly cleaning house and trying lots of new yummy recipes

But also:
Youth Conference at Snow College
Our Co-Ed softball league again..games every Friday night
Fun Crafts
Bows for Dali
Even Bracelets

More Wall hangings for Dali's room

The Zoo: I got to take my friend Sarah’s adorable boys with me

This is the Place Monument: Dali found her dream house

Swimming honestly almost every day… sometimes Dali's cousins come over to join us!

Lots of hanging out with family...including a couple trips to Manti

We went to St. George and Cedar City. We worked on our house and got to see lots of friends. Thanks again Shay and Ashley for letting us stay at Hotel Jackson. Dali made a new friend....or boyfriend? So adorable.

And look how cute our Cedar Yard looks. It makes me sad we can’t live there. :( That’s another thing I have been very busy with- finding new renters. But I’m happy to say as of last night we have the whole house rented out!

Which reminds me….the thing that has kept me the very busiest in the last few weeks is our home search. Pete and I are finally going to buy another home. One we can live in! We’ve been flirting with the idea for awhile but now the time is right! We have a great agent that we are in contact with almost every day I swear…and we plan on being in a home any time between next month and the end of the year. Exciting!
