Welcome Quinn and more updates
My new little nephew Quinn was born on March 14th. He is adorable! Congrats to my sister Mary, her husband Aaron, and the new big sister Lily.

My dear friend Kimberly got married on March 19th!

Adaliah has continued to make us laugh daily. The other day she went exploring while I was cleaning the kitchen and when she came back this is what I found....
Kimberly and I met at EFY when we were almost 14 and stayed close. She lived in Kansas so every summer she would come out at go to EFY with me and then stay a week in Manti. I also got to go out to Kansas a few times to visit her. Unfortunately we haven't been able to stay as close over the last few years..but it was amazing to see her so happy and married. She was the most beautiful bride...no surprises there. She is a knock out.

Sundays
Last Sunday was wonderful. We woke up and blasted church music through the house. We wrote in our journals and wrote letters to Pete's siblings on missions. Pete and I watched the spoken word while Adaliah took her morning nap. We all got ready for church and left early. We got 3rd row seats in sacrament. Adaliah played quietly while we listened to the speakers. The rest of our meetings went well and Adaliah was great.
We came home and cooked dinner while Adaliah napped. Then we went for a family walk around the neighbor hood and introduced ourselves to a neighbor we hadn't met.
That night we talked about how wonderful our Sabbath had been and how it was the perfect start to our week. We decided we would try to make it a goal to have all our Sundays like that.
Yeah...here I am writing this post during sacrament meeting...
Adaliah woke up cranky and sick. She wined and cried all morning long. She's been sneezing every few mins, and when she does she gets snot ALL over her face. Pete and I were running around whipping her nose before she whipped it all over the house.
I wasn't prepared for my young woman's lesson so I was trying to finish that all morning. Adaliah took a horrible morning nap...only 30 mins..and then woke up in a worse mood. Pete and I were cranky from listening to her cry. We got to church late and sat in the hard seats in the back. All Adaliah wanted to do is run to the front of the chapel and would scream bloody murder when we tried to stop her.
Pete spent the 1st half of the meeting in the hall way, and 30 seconds after he brought her back in she tripped and cut her lip open on the chair.
After stopping the blood I tried to put her to sleep because I knew she was EXHAUSTED and not feeling well , but she just screamed and screamed...
So I finally gave up and came home to put Adaliah down for a nap...sign
I only have 1 child....how do mothers do it?

13 mths!
So I don’t think I’ll keep up the monthly update now that she’s a year, but I’m planning on updating on milestones (18 mths, 2 years…ext). I didn’t do a 1 year post though, so here is my 13 mth instead.
Ht: 30 inches (75%)
Wt: 24.6 (85%)
1. Adaliah says 25 + words. Her favorite recently is “yeah” or “uh-hu” (while nodding). If you ask anything in the form of a question she’ll answer you with one or the other. My favorite thing she says is “Adaliah”. She says it pretty clear! This makes me especially happy because as a mother I worried her name was too complicated…but she had it down by her 1st birthday. She even sings the “Dali song” which she sings by saying “Adaliah- Adaliah- Adaliah -Do”. So cute…I will post video of it soon I hope.
2. If you ask her if she’s 1 she’ll put up one finger with her biggest cheesiest smile.
3. She loves being outside! She would live out there 24-7 if she could. She stands by our back door all day and says “moo” and points outside. (Yes…we have horses in the back yard..not cows…for some reason she hasn’t grasped that concept yet) She loves the park and is getting pretty brave on the equipment. She’ll climb up the stairs and sometimes even go down the little slides all by herself.
3. She LOVES getting clothes out her drawers and “putting them on” (draping them around her shoulders). And she LOVES getting my boots out of the closet and filling them full of treasures. I have to empty them out every time I go to put them on…here is a picture of what I found last time. (Her shoe, a cell phone, Pete's deodorant, and a paper she found in my drawer.)
4. She signs 8-9 different animals. Bird is her favorite. When we're outside she always points to the sky and signs bird while saying "tweet tweet tweet"
5. She’s learned how to run…not my favorite trick… especially when I say the word “nap” or “diaper change”
6.She wears all 18 mth clothes and she has all 12 of her teeth. All 4 molars were in by her 1st birthday and now she’s working on her top left 2 year old molar.
7.Best of all…she’s finally good for babysitters!! Yay!!! Bring on the date nights.
Sorry that’s a lot- but it’s so exciting to see her turn into a toddler. I can’t imagine what she’ll be doing by 18 mths. She is such a sweetie! I love her and the joy she brings into our home.

Sister Time
I have had an amazing week of sister time! I've loved it!! My sister Mary is pregnant- ready to pop- so my sister Anne (from Maryland) flew out to help.
This is at Mary's babyshower on Saturday the 5th... Left to Right. Karen, Anne, Mary (Due any day), Me, Kim (due in June), Cami (Due in June).
On Sunday I had Anne and Mary's family over for dinner. Look at these cute cousins! (and their uncle Aaron). Pete took them for a ride around the kitchen on a blanket. haha. You can see that Adaliah's eye is getting better, but still dark enough that everybody asks...
On Wednesday we went to lunch...

Anne got to stay at my house from Wednesday-Saturday. We had a blast. Thursday was actually her birthday! We started the day with birthday waffles and then later went up the canyon and roasted hot dogs and marshmallows with Mary and Aaron.

And blew out candles...on ding dongs. (Side note- have you had a ding dong recently? They are nasty! None of us could actually stomach one...)
On Friday Karen and Anne came over for a girls night. We stayed up late watching chick flicks and eating popcorn and candy.
I love sister time!! It does good for my soul.
Now we just need Mary to have that cute baby....she's been dilated to a 3 for 1 1/2 weeks now...poor girl.

Portland
The trip started on Thursday the 3rd. Adaliah did not like the airplane ride to say it lightly. She did not like missing her naps, she did not like staying up until midnight Utah time, and she did not like her portable crib in the corner of a room shared with 4 other adults... the 4 other adults didn't like Adaliah's crying all night and all morning.
Pete didn't like that I forgot our temple recommends (the whole reason of going to Portland was to see Joel and Jamie be sealed) but we did like our amazing bishop that helped us out.
Friday at 12:00 we thought we would grab a bite as a family before the ceromony. So everybody met up for lunch. (Pete and I were late...) To make a long story short- my sister-in-law Julie realizes her purse is gone in the middle of lunch. She also realizes her keys to the rental car are in it. My brother-in-law Jake goes outside just in time to see the thief's get into the rental car. He yells at them-kicks them out of the car...they start running...he catches up to the woman thief and pins her down.. Jim and Bear run after the others, the criminals pull a knife on them and get away...
Jake finds Julie's credit cards and phone in the woman's purse but never gets her wallet and camera back. Crazy...but exciting... Nothing like seeing a family of 15 run down the streets of Portland chasing and tackling "bad guys".
Dave's girlfriend Lisa offered to look for Julie's purse in the bathroom before they realized what had happened. She left for 5 mins and came out to find this.... a 5 mth old in a car seat and a 3 year old coloring...she had no idea what had happened...everybody had run outside to get in on the action and left the kids alone at the table.
This is when Pete and I walked walked in... we were very cunfused...
Anyway... the first part of the trip would be classified as "crazy"
But the 2nd half of the trip was wonderful. The sealing ceremony was amazing. I love weddings! Jamie looked stunning and the temple was beautiful.

Look at these crazy brothers...

Me- Dali- and the Beautiful Bride
Dali loving the flowers...
Daddy and Dali...
(side note: Try to keep up with this..... Lisa is my brother-in-law Dave's girl friend. She is also my mom's, brother's, wife's, brother's, daughter (or..my aunt's neice on the other side )....meaning...we have the same aunt and uncle and cousins! Small world! I thought she was just a cute Cali girl...so it was crazy when we put it together...

Friday night was another sleepless night for Adaliah...which meant for all of us too. Needless to say we were all very excited to go home on Saturday...

Bonk!
I was giving Adaliah a bath yesterday and she tried to stand up (naughty girl). She slipped and hit her face on the side of the tub. Moments later her eye was already purple. Poor girl
Adaliah and her uncle Dave.
The night was enchanting. Congrats Jamie and Joel!
