July Highlights

4th of July Fun

We had lots of visitors in July. Tausha Bentz and her 3 girls came to visit. It was a party with all 6 of those cute girls!!
The Caspersons came go stay with us and we went to the Expo center to see the "Days of 47" floats. Kai got to stay with us for a week. He was doing a summer camp at ballet west. Kai is 13 years old and he would wake up at 6 am every morning- make himself some eggs, pack himself a lunch, and then come upstairs to have Pete drive him to the track station. He would take tracks to downtown Salt Lake and dance for the entire day. Then we would pick him up after dinner. I can not believe the maturity of that kid!

Also my dear friend Katelyn came into town!!

My mom held cousins camp again.

Adaliah held a couple dance classes for the neighborhood kids. She passed out invitations, made up a dance to teach, and carried out a fun class for everyone. She is amazing.

One night all the kids tried on Adaliah's hair...they look pretty great.

This is Pete and I on one of our weekly date nights. We got a couples massage and a giant snow cone.  It doesn't get much better then that!

Jimmy 3 mths

Jimmy 3 months old

Jimmy was blessed on his 3 month mark- June 5th.

My mom made his little tie.

We had 80+ family and friends to celebrate the big day.

Jimmy's Blessing:
Our Heavenly Father, by the power of the Holy Melchizedek Priesthood which we hold, we take this infant in our arms to give him a blessing. The name we give him is James Peter Ackerman.
At this time Jimmy, we bless you that you will always know the love of your Heavenly Father. We bless you to know and honor your heritage and that from a young age you can feel strongly in your spirit and in your mind that you are His son and as His son, he has great things in store for you and great responsibilities.  Remember his goodness and always put him first.
We bless you that as your put Him first and put His desires first, not your own, you will be greatly blessed. We bless you that you will seek to help and serve other people. We bless you that as  you build those other people up, you will see and know happiness even if it is uncomfortable for you.
We bless you that in a world full of hard times and sorrow, you will seek happiness.
We bless you that you will have courage to do what is right and to be virtuous in your desires and choices.
We bless you to be honest and to have desires to serve. We bless you with the desire to serve a mission and bring the gospel to others, which is his desire for all of us.
We bless you to not be swayed by deception, and know that sometimes other people may try to deceive you. We bless you to be firm, be conscious of the Holy Ghost, that he can guide you.
We bless you that you will follow that guidance, and you'll always listen to know what Heavenly Father wants you to do. We bless you to cherish your relationship with your mom and your dad and your siblings, your cousins, and all those who care about you. We say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
Things about Jimmy:

Jimmy gives the best slobbery kisses. He sucks on my cheek all the time.
Jimmy had a clogged duck in his eye, then he got pink eye! When the pink eye cleared up so did the clog ducked! Magic!

This is Jimmy showing his teeth marks from his sister Norah. He also had an emergency run to the doctor when Norah shoved the formula scooper handle down his throat and cut the back of this throat. It was pretty traumatizing for me..lots of gagging noises, followed by throwing up blood. Luckily he was okay.

June Highlights

Pete surprised me with the most amazing Birthday get-away to Park City with just Jimmy, Pete and I.
Swimming, relaxing, fine dining..

In the morning we went out to breakfast and I was surprised to find half of the Ackerman gang there too! Pete surprissed me by getting everyone together for breakfast and a beautiful hike.

Adaliah and a few Singers Company performances. The performances had a 50's theme with songs from the past. Adaliah and the cute Tait girls had a good laugh about their dresses spelling "GAS" when they stood in a line.

Adaliah and Elizabeth also had their dance performance of  "King Bidgood in the bathtub"

And then it was officialy sumer: Late nights outside with all the neighbors, soccer camp, family hikes, swimming lessons, out door plays, the Lehi Legacy princess party...

Elizabeth learned to ride her bike just a few weeks before her 4th birthday. We were so proud of her.
This pictures of the girls legs cracked me up. Only a few weeks into summer and their legs were already covered in bandaids, bruises, and tan lines.

And then there is giant Jimmy.  3 months old. He's wearing 6-12 month swim shorts which did the trick...but clearly the 3-6 month swim shirt didn't cut it for him and his cute tummy. It does come in handy having a giant baby though. Our family went to Thanksgiving Point's children's museum and Norah sat in something disgusting....like really gross. I thought we would all have to go home so we could change Norah's clothes but instead I took Jimmy's shorts off of him and gave them to Norah. He chilled in a onesie..and we were set! It's not every day your 3 month old and 2 year old can share clothes!
