Weddings

Congrats to the love birds!! Pete's brother Dave is engaged to the amazing Lisa- and we couldn't be more excited. They're getting married in Sacramento- and I'm espically excited because I get to see MY FAMILY there. Say what? Lisa is my Uncle's neice.... my cousins- cousin...
Crazy...such a small world...

It will be fun for Dave and Pete to have mutual in-law relatives!

So we have 3 brothers getting married in the next 8 weeks!! Love it-

Today I was just working on games for the bridal shower.....thinking of questions "How did you meet? When did you know they were THE ONE"... all the sudden I was crying like a baby. What is wrong with me? It's just so exciting to think that our brothers have found THE ONE. The one they will spend forever with. I'm so happy for all of them.

18 mths

18 mths old!
Stats: 26 pds (75th percentile)
32.5 inches (75th percentile)

I am so sad about this post... my sweet girl is getting too big. These last 6 mths have FLEW by.....

A little about Adaliah:

Favorite food: "meet" (Lunch meat)
Favorite Show: "SKY" (little einstines on Disney- The theme songs says "zooming through the sky" in it...and for some reason sky stuck in Adliah's brain)
Favorite Toy: "Alice"- Alice is an old baby doll we got as a hand me down.It was so old and ratty that we put it in a D.I. bag. Adaliah found it and fell in love. She carries it around all day long- feeds her, puts her down for naps, and takes her for rides in the stroller. She started calling her Alice- after she met my baby niece Alice. She can't go to bed at night without her and often asks to take her to the store and church with us.
("Alice- Air pane!"- As Adaliah would say) Yes- girls will be girls. You can buy them boyish toys but they will find a way to use them in a girlish way.

Sleeping habits: Down around 8:30 - up between 6-7 am (yawn) She's still taking two naps ussually from 10-11 and 3-4.
Favorite Treat: "Chew-Chews" (fruit snacks) yes- Adaliah has her own language...
Favorite game: Hide and Go Seek. While hiding she'll say "Where are you Adaliah....Where are you?" Then pop out "There she is!"

My favorite thing about Adaliah- she LOVES other kids. Example: We were waiting in line at the Expo center a few weeks ago and Adaliah started making friends with the little girl in line behind us. Next thing you know- they are walking around holding hands and making each other laugh.. I wanted to eat both of them up- it was so sweet. "Hand? Come one!" Is what Adaliah always says to here little friends.

Adaliah has transformed into a toddler over night.
"I do it!"- is her motto. Getting dressed, feeding herself, going down the stairs facing forward...ext. She has to do everything herself.

That way, That one, Love you, Want that, Where are you?, There it is, Come on, Open that, close that, Help me, Hold you, .....she says 15-20 small phrases like these...

And the last week or two she's been surprising me with a little more structured sentences like "I drink some more, I drink it!"

Last week while camping she counted from 1- 10 all by herself for the first time... okay.. 1-9 and then BABIES at the end instead of 10...?

She'll repeate anything you say- Example: Pete's mom babysat her a few weeks back- I called to check on things and Susan says "Things are great! I taught Adaliah the pledge of allegiance" I laughed out loud when I heard this but sure enough- I got home to find Adaliah repeating the pledge phrase by phrase after me with her little hand on her heart.

Shes learning how to throw a temper tantrum. She yells NO at me and falls on the ground screaming and kicking. It's hard not to bust out laughing... where did she learn this stuff? It's like she's been studying 'how to be a toddler 101". Sometimes she'll even scold me... "NO NO NO MAMMA" while shacking her finger at me. Oh no-we're in for trouble...

I am in love with this age. It's so fun communicating with Adaliah and watching her learn and discover new things. I can honestly say she's my best friend- I love hanging out with her everyday, laughing together, playing together, dancing together, doing chores together...

Happy 18 mths Adaliah!

Oregon

Hurd Family Reunion (my moms family) was in Oregon this year. It was wonderful. Beautiful, relaxing, lots of family, and lots of fun. Adaliah LOVED it. She loved being outside all day long. She spent her days finding rocks, exploring the campsite, playing with her cousin Lily, and eating-eating-eating. We went for an 11 mile hike and saw 10 amazing waterfalls. We packed Adaliah a long to enjoy the hike (when I say "we packed her along"- I mean my Dad carried her for 7 miles- and me for 3 or 4)

Look as this happy little toddler swinging her arms, marching along the trail..having the time of her life.

sleepy girl...family...
Pete wasn't able to make the trip because of work- so we traveled and shared a tent with Karen or "Nen Nen" as Adaliah says it. Adaliah LOVED all the Nen Nen time.
The hiking crew...

Adaliah
and Lily loved exploring. One afternoon they held hands and chatted back and forth as they marched around the camp ground together. They were so adorable- they started drawing a crowd.

Reverence

Tonight for FHE we had a lesson on being reverent. Adaliah passed the test. She was being so stinking sweet and reverent I wanted to eat her up!! I love this girl...have I mentioned this before?
