To my best friend

Dear Adaliah,
I remember when you were not much more than a positive sign on a piece of plastic. I fell to my knees in tears thanking my Heavenly Father for the opportunity to be a mother.
I remember when the doctors couldn’t find your heart beat and before they could get me into the ultrasound room I was sobbing- I wanted to meet you so badly.
I remember when they told me you were a girl- my heart skipped a beat. I couldn’t believe it-God trusted me with one of his daughters- a little princess in my own home.
I remember being big and uncomfortable- I loved looking through your clothes wondering what your tiny body would look like in them.
I remember lying in that hospital bed in more pain than I knew was possible, but knowing you would be in my arms soon made me stronger than ever thought I could be.
I remember the sound of your first cry and the sight of your dark curly hair- I had never heard or seen anything more beautiful.
I remember our first family prayer with the three of us, just minutes after you were born. I had never felt so close to heaven.
Your first smile, your first giggle, your first belly laugh at dad…every moment since you’ve come has felt too sweet to be real. You are really MY girl. I helped create you. And through the process I have felt closer to my savoir than I ever had before.
Thank you Adaliah. Thank you for coming to our home. Thank you for teaching me how to love more deeply, how to be more patient, how to be less selfish, and how to be more sensitive to that sweet spirit you bring into our home.
I love you!
Love Mom

California!

Travel Log:
The first 3 days of the trip were just Pete, Adaliah, and I (and Pete’s friend Steve that was so nice to show us around and let us stay with him). We got to see San Francisco and Santa Cruz.

I love this picture- Adaliah had a huge blowout and Pete and Steve offered to take charge of Adaliah while I cleaned the car seat. What troopers!

Sata Cruz Beach Boardwalk. We took this picture from the top of the Farris Wheel.

Adaliah got to put her little feet in the sand for the first time. It was freezing cold though- so she still hasn't experienced ocean water.

Aww....too cute...

The last 3 days of the trip were my family reunion at Bass Lake and Yosemite. Adaliah got sick- and we had some pretty painful-endless nights in our tent- but we survived! One of the nights we had a Luau for my cute cousin and her new hubby!

I had to post this picture- Pete's outfit is just the best!!! Don't ya think?

We got to go on a BEAUTIFUL hike in Yosemite with my dad and sister Karen – which I think was the highlight of the whole trip. Adaliah LOVED IT! She flashed a smile to everyone we passed on the trail. What a sweetie!!

Yes- that hike was a bit hard for me...can we tell? But look how beautiful that Waterfall is! It's almost as beautiful as Adaliah' sweet smile :)

We loved our first family vacation as a family of 3! It was the first of many we hope!

Silly Poem

Here is a silly poem I wrote after a long day

Stay at home wife:

Babies crying, diapers wet
Third time up and it’s not six yet

Change and feed and rock to sleep
Tip toe out – don’t make a peep

Gym? Running? This is my chance
Hair in a pony with my exercise pants

Get back in time for family prayer
I don’t think I’ll have time to wash my hair

Send my husband off to work
Babies awake and she’s going buzerk

Laundry, dishes, bills galore
Vacuum, scrubbing, and much much more

The cupboards are empty, it’s time to shop
Got caught speeding- sweet talk the cop

Run to the bank, post office too
Baby blew out- I’m covered in poo

Time to Read stories and dance around
Play “Peek a Boo” and make funny sounds

Swimming, the park, or grandmother’s place
Anything for a laugh and a smile on babies face

Making dinner with baby on the hip
Go the extra mile to make my husband’s favorite dip

Dinners hot dished up on a plate
Husband called- he’s going to be late

Eat alone, and clean up
Baby just had a big spit up

Bath time, bed time, night night song
The babies a sleep before too long

Husband comes home- his day was heck
Listen to him vent while rubbing his neck

Cuddle on the couch during scripture study
I love alone time with my hubby

We're both asleep before to long

I made it another day as a “stay at home mom”
