April Highlights

Adaliah learned to ride her bike with out training wheels!

One Saturday afternoon we were playing in the front yard with the Leishman's. Pete was at work  and Chad asked Adaliah if she wanted him to take off her training wheels. Much to my surprise, she nodded her head yes- so he did! We ran up and down the street practicing all afternoon. She was excited to show her dad when he got him from work. Pete worked with her some more and that evening and Sunday afternoon and by Sunday evening she had it down! She could even stop and get started herself. 

She told me that she wanted to learn to ride her bike so she could do a triathlon with me. Then she started asking if she could run with me in the mornings. She did surprisingly awesome on our runs. She would run the entire time while chatting with me .  We signed her up for a 1 mile kids run at thanksgiving point. She was SO EXCITED. I think most of the excitement was spending one on one time with me in the mornings- but either way, she had a lot of fun. 

I did the 5K that morning and got a new PR which I was excited about! 23:46, which is about 7:40 min miles. 

April also means the TULIP FESTIVAL! We were abel to go one afternoon with the Kuresas and another evening with Karen and Collin. 

The girls got their faces painted before Karen and Collin got there. When Elizabeth was finished gettings hers done she told me, "Collin is going to see me and say "you look so pretty  Zizzy". She loves her uncle Collin- but who can blame her. He is so sweet to out girls. 

They also had dancing at the tulip festival that evening. Elizabeth went down all by herself and danced alone for a long time. We were very entertained watching her. Then Collin when down asked her to dance. 

Every night before bed I ask the girls what their happy and sad part of the day was. Elizabeth told me that night with a shy smile "My happy part is when I danced with Collin"

Here is just an April sabbath morning getting ready to leave for church. 

Adaliah lost a second tooth! This time we were able to catch it before she swallowed it. This one fell out while I was brushing her teeth.   Norah got her first tooth in March, at 13 mths old- and then her second tooth came in April. She got her two bottom teeth which are the ones's Adaliah lost. We decided that Adaliah just lost hers and gave then to Norah. 

April also brought the 2nd snow storm of the YEAR. We had 1 good snow on Christmas day, but that has been it! We had to take advantage when it came. Sadly, Elizabeth was sick with a horrible cough so she got to stay home with me and Norah and make marshmallow snowmen, while Pete and Adaliah went out sledding during his lunch break.

We also  went on a ward hike to Battlecreek falls. The girls did great.

They were so excited to see their best friends Gracie and Sienna on the hike.

Funny story about the hike: Pete was mowing the lawn while I was trying to get all the kids dressed, ready, snacks packed, car loaded, diapers changed....you know, all the prep. We were running late. I loaded up the kids and then Pete hopped in the car and we left. About 10 mins after leaving the house I realized I wasn't wearing any shoes. I didn't even bring any shoes. This is motherhood- so busy worrying about everyone else you forget the basics for yourself. (Usually it's eating for me- but today it was my shoes)Pete stopped at a walmart and bought be a $7 pair to hike in and we made it! 

March Highlights

I got home from Disneyworld on Monday, then on Wednesday, Pete broke the news that he was leaving for a trip to California for the weekend. Then he proceeded to tell me that while I was gone he had interviewed with a guy and was flying out to make a reality tv show pilot. You can imagine my surprise!

So- Pete went to California and filmed a TV Pilot with his brothers. A guy that works for NBC contacted Dave and put together a tv show idea of 3 brothers traveling the world. All though nothing will probably become of it- Pete had a lot of fun flying to California for free and spending the weekend filming and goofing off with his bros. 

While he was gone, we went to Manti and hung out with grams and visited Candalyn at her farm.

Grams always makes things fun while we are there. For example, one morning we painted our bread before we toasted it. The girls love her energy and her creativity. She always has crafts and projects to do, songs she teaches them, fun places she takes them. We are so lucky to have Grams. 

When we were in Manti, Grams took us to McDonalds and Adaliah lost her 1st tooth while eating a chicken nugget. She actually swallowed it. I knew it was almost ready to come out but I was to chicken to pull it- so I figured we would wait until Pete got home. Opps! 

Adaliah was SO EXCITED to have the tooth fairy come at Grams house. 

While we were there, Grams and Gramps treated us to the Cinderella movie which Adaliah LOVED. Before the movie started we played at the park. It was so cute to see Elizabeth and my dad laugh and play together and then she wanted to sit on his lap during the movie. 

I got to see the 3 minute "preview" of the reality show that they are going to pitch to NBC. It's crazy that an entire weekend of filming was only for a 3 minute clip. 

 Pete and I did a sprint Triathlon together. It was SUCH  a fun and rewarding experience to do it together. I was way impressed with Pete, he taught himself how to swim a few weeks leading up to the race- and he did amazing.  I got my New PR by 5 mins was really exciting for me! I think it helped that I was trying to keep up with Pete the entire time. I finished just 4 1/2 mins behind him.

Karen and Collin came and watched the girls and cheered us on. They are seriously THE BEST! 

Pete had his Birthday! 

We went to Ruths Chris and out for a massage on Saturday,

Sunday was his actually birthday.  We had a dinner at Pete's parents house. Pete, Chris, and his Dad made some delicious Argentine food. Yum! 

Susan fell in March and fractured her pelvic bone, so she's been down for the last few weeks. It was nice we could have the diner at their house so she could participate. 

 With Pete's birthday being on Sunday, it was a VERY BUSY day. It was a very fitting day for his 32nd birthday. He is a grown up now. He woke up at at 6:30 am and went to a stake leadership training, followed by his Elders Quom meeting. He came home long enough to open presents and have some crapes. He then left to home teach one family before church, 3 hours of church, and then taught another family after church. He got home and hoped in the car, then cooked his own Birthday Dinner. Busy day. But a great day.

Florida Part 2

Adaliah was in for yet ANOTHER surprise. Her best friend Abbie, that used to live down the street, moved to Florida almost 2 years ago. When Abbie comes to Utah, Mellisa always makes sure to make time for the two of them to play. They have so much fun together and there are usually a lot of tears when it's time for Abbie to go back to Florida.

I surprised her Thursday night after our first day of Disneyworld when we checked into our hotel and Abbie and Melissa were there waiting for us! 

They were so excited they could hardly sleep. They were giggling, hugging, dancing, and singing until they passed out. 

The next morning we woke up for another day of Disney world, this time at the Magic Kingdom Park.

We took the girls on all the rides, including space mountain and splash mountain. Adaliah wasn't a big fan of either. Actually she HATED splash mtn because the water made her SO NERVOUS. I Promised her we weren't going to go on any other water rides. That night we started heading for "It's a small world". She did NOT want to go. "You told me NO MORE WATER RIDES". It took a lot of convincing and at the end of the day, she was glad she went on it. She did LOVE the Goofy Coaster and the Seven Dwarf Mine Ride. We stayed out late until the night parade and fireworks at 9 pm. Abbie fell asleep in the stroller but the park didn't close until 11 pm. It was a little cold so most people left after the parade at 9. Adaliah and I took advantage of the short lines and ran from ride to ride until the gates closed at 11. It was SUCH fun Adaliah time. I will cherish those memories forever.

Also, the Ellsa and Anna line was over 2 hours all day, but we passed it 2 mins before the park closed ,so we got right in. It was perfect. 

After our day at disney, we went and stayed with the Smiths for two nights. We went on a hiking trip and went to a BEAUTIFUL BEACH.

The Smiths met  a bunch of friends from medical school there , which was kinda perfect because Adaliah and I just went off on our own and played in the sand, looked for sea shells, and played in the water.  Again, these pictures make my heart warm. It was such good quality time with Adaliah.

I did make time for a turn on the paddle board which was really fun! (Even though I ate it every time a wave came)

We had the perfect trip, but by Sunday we were home sick and ready to see the family.  Again, it was so nice to not worry. They were at Susan and Jims house for a few days, and then Pete had them for the weekend. These are a few of the pics he sent me while I was gone.

We got home Monday afternoon. Norah wasn't too sure about me for the first 30 mins which broke my heart, but she warmed up and life all went back to normal.
