Norah 11 Mths

Norah Bell is 11 mths-

(January 20th)

A little about Norah

*She took her first steps on Christmas Eve but still choose crawling as her main way of transpiration. Then on January 20th- right on her 11 month mark she decided she was done crawling. Everytime she fell down she would stand back up and try again until she had it down.  Now she's cruising around fast trying to keep up with her sisters.

*Her hair is curly! If we don't comb it after the bath it tuns into a curly mess. We are IN LOVE with these curls.

*Yep- still no signs of any teeth! But somehow she manages to eat just about everything.

*She loves the bathroom. It is the most horrible thing ever. She likes to unroll the toilet paper and stick her hand in the bowl and try to fish things out- expcially when potty training Elizabeth has just gotten done. SO GROSE!!

*She stands up and try's to crawl while nursing. Sweet heavens she is crazy while nursing.

*She loves playing Peek-a-Bo! Sometimes she'll start playing with me while nursing. She'll cover her face and then uncover it with a big smile.

*Adaliah got the stomach flu and then Norah got it too. IT was the saddest night of my life watching this littler girl throw up over and over again. Pete and I took turns holding her all night with a towel over us. I've never had a baby so young be so sick. I hatted it.

*She is seriously happy 99% of the time. She walks around the house with a giant smile waving to us, clapping, dancing to music, and playing with toys. She is such a joy!

Moments at home

Aug 2014
Adaliah: Look outside Dad! It looks like the Jesus Star!
Elizabeth: Jesus is the prophet
Adaliah: No he's not. He's kinda like a prophet but he's our savior and a member of the Godhead.
Pete: Oh, who else is in the Godhead?
Adaliah: Heavenly Father , Jesus, and the Holy Ghost. I don't have the Holy Ghost yet though, I don't get it until I'm baptized.
Pete: You're so smart Adaliah.
Adaliah: That's because i read my scriptures. When I get bigger and I can REALLY read my sciptures I'll be even more smart!

Aug 2014
Trying to teach Elizabeth colors

Me: What color is this Elizabeth? (pointing to the color green)
Elizabeth: Yellow?  Blue? Pink?
Me: Nope, it's Green
Elizabeth : I WANNA DO IT! Green.

Sept 11 2014
Adaliah: Mom, did you go on your mission?
Me: Nope, I didn't get to go on  a mission
Adaliah: Why not?
Me: Because I wasn't old enough before I met your dad. As soon as I met your Dad, I KNEW he was my prince and i had to marry him.
Adaliah: thinks for a little while and then responds "That's why I'm not going to meet anybody handsome when I'm little. Because I'm going on a mission and THEN i'll get married.

I'm glad she's got this all figured out at age 4

Sept 2014
Norah is 6 months and Adaliah calls it "zero and a half"

October 2014:
Poor Adaliah. One of the fire alarms in our house was running out of batteries so it started to chirp. Pete went down to change the battery and Adaliah started asking questions. "It's just for emergencies. It keeps us safe so that if there is a fire it will tell us!" Pete explained. A fire?! In our house? I don't want there to be a fire!" Adaliah said with big tears in her eyes. Pete explained. There probably won't ever be a fire- it's just so we are prepared if there ever was. Adaliah screamed and cried for the rest of the night and kept asking to say prayers over and over and over again.

for the next 4 months EVERY NIGHT in her prayers she would pray that their wouldn't be a fire. She was so scared.

Another time we were passing a water park. "Wow! Look how fun those slides look!" Pete says. Adaliah looks out the window. "They look dangerous" Adaliah replies.

Whenever she see's a warning label on anything she asks me to read it to her and if she ever catches Pete and I doing something that she thinks isn't in the role book she is sure to correct us. Example: "Mom I think that sign said we aren't supposed to walk here"

Pete thinks it's hilarious that she's so much like ME. It's true.

Dec 2014
Elizabeth's prayer:
"Bless my boy named Daddy. He is so handsome. Bless the giant named Spencer. (uncle spencer). Bless Collin and Karen. Bless I can marry all the boys. Bless the animals. The Giraffe and tiger and monkey. Bless the babies. The baby giraffe the baby monkey and all the baby animals. Bless the bad guys..."

December 2014
Elizabeth asked for a treat and I told her no
She started whinning and then the whining turned into the Gloria melody of the song "Angles we have heard on high" Elizabeths favorite song right now.

Elizabeth the Fashionista

Elizabeth refuses to let us help her get dressed. EVERYDAY she wants to dress herself. Her outfits usually include a skirt and pants and multiple shirts. She loves the long pink church coat that you can see in the first to pictures. She try's to partner that will most of her outfits.  I'm just proud of her for figuring out how to get dressed and undressed so young. She can even do her socks and shoes. She is a crack up and we love her.

Christmas 2014

This year we spent Christmas Eve at Amanda's house. We had a yummy dinner and sat around and sang lots of Christmas carols.

When it got late the girls opened their Christmas pj's and we headed home.

At home we put out the cookies and milk for Santa....

...and Pete read them "the night before Christmas"

Christmas morning was a success. Adaliah got her mermaid dress that she asked Santa for (she was very clear that it needed to cover her feet. She asked for one the year before but was so disappointed that it wasn't long enough, so she never put it on. Luckily Santa got it right on his second try) Elizabeth got her kitty that she asked for. Pete got his Gun, and I got my bike.

Jim, Susan, Chris, and Aunt Pam came over and watched the girls open presents and we all had  Christmas  breakfast. We spent the morning and afternoon in our pajamas slowly opening and playing with presents.

Elizabeth has been terrified of Santa all Christmas. She wouldn't sit on his lap and cried every time she saw him. Christmas morning when the Ackermans knocked on the door, her eyes got wide and she yelled "It's santa!" and  ran and hid behind the couch.

Norah got a toy remote and a Christmas book in her stocking. We all laughed as she grabbed the book and threw it and then went for the remote.

That evening we went to Grandmother and Pops for a family dinner.

December highlights #2

We got to watch Jake and Amanda's family be sealed in the temple all together. It was one of the most  amazing temple experiences I had ever had. I am so glad for the gospel, for temples, and for the knowledge that families can be together FOREVER.

Pete went on a CAMPING TRIP  with his buddy Ben. It was freezing cold outside, 3 feet of snow in the mountains, and it snowed on them all night...and they had the time of our their life. Pete came home as excited as a 10 year old boy telling me about all their adventures. He wants to go again.

Pete took the entire week before Christmas off from work. We took a trip to Midway. We stayed in a hotel, swam, ate out, went to a movie, and went sledding in Park City. It was SUCH a fun trip. (Except tying to share one room at the hotel. Nobody slept..it was a nightmare)

When we came home, Elizabeth and I made a Gingerbread house and Pete and Adaliah made a Gram

Cracker Castle.
