I always call my sister Karen and complain when I've had a no-good day. She's always so sweet to listen and laugh and let me get it off my chest so I can push the re-start button and try again. She told me last week that I need to blog about some of these days, because one day I'll miss them. It's true. So here we go...
Here was my grocery store adventure a few weeks ago.
I had a shopping list...not a long shopping list....just the basics to keep my family alive and fed for a week. I wanted to go to Costco, then WalMart.
I dropped Pete off at work at 3:00 and then went to Costco. Nothing too crazy happened there, just the usual, a cart full of kids so there was no room to put anything and a line that took way too long. I loaded up the car and then fed Elizabeth.
4:30- I went to walmart and got two things in my cart when Elizabeth started screaming bloody murder. After trying everything...I gave up and bought my two things with a screaming baby in my arms and headed to the car. Right when I got everybody buckled and ready, Adaliah announces she needs to go potty. We ran inside and took Adaliah to the bathroom. By this time Elizabeth has calmed down, so I decide to try shopping again.
5:30- Again- I got two things in my basket when Elizabeth had a giant blow-out.
I ran to the bathroom again and while changing her diaper (and clothes) Adaliah starts compliaing about how hungry she is.
6:00- I loaded up the girls and we went out to grab a bite to eat (and fed Elizabeth again..).
6:45- I'm almost 4 hours into my night with almost nothing to show for it...
Elizabeth was asleep so I attempted Walmart once again.
This time, things went better. Adaliah sang loudly the entire time while I hurried around as fast as I could gathering the things on my list.
8:00- I finished at walmart just in time to pick up Pete from work.
What do I have to show for my last 5 hours? A few groceries...Love it!
I've had people tell me I should just go shopping when Pete is home... problem is, I feel like I never see the guy so when he walks in the door, the LAST thing I want to do is leave. I'll figure it out someday. It just takes some adjusting.

Outside Fun
Playing in the snow...
I love having the Ludwigs share a back yard with us. I couldn't talk Adaliah into going outside until she saw her cousins out playing too. Aaron and Pete helped the girls build the snowmen. After the fun in the snow we all came in for Hot Chocolate and Cinnamon Rolls...Mmmmm. As much as I despise winter- I love mornings like this.
Something I've learned as a mother: EVERYTHING takes twice as long but is twice as much fun.
Example: Raking Leaves
Another fun morning doing yard work and enjoying the seasons. I love little life moments like these ones. Isn't life sweet?

October- week 4
Pumpkin Carving with the Pace's and Williams
Family walk....
Well is was supposed to be a walk but Adaliah wanted to run the ENTIRE time. She probably ran 1/2 a mile. She cracks us up!

Gardener village with Aunt Karen
Adaliah didn't want to get too close to the big witches so I couldn't get any pictures- but then she found this little one. "I found a nice witch mom, you can take a picture!!"
Karen brought her friends little boy with us too. Adaliah wasn't loving his costume... but it sure made for a great picture.

Halloween
Neighborhood Halloween Party: Oct 20th
Yummy food, fun games, great company, hilarious costumes...It coulnt' have been better.
Halloween Party at the Roberts: October 26th
Love. Love. Love. this group of crazies...
Ward Halloween Party:
This is Lily and Adaliah in a nutshell...
.....and you wonder why Adaliah is such a spaz. Like mother like daughter.
When asked what she was for Halloween Adaliah would say "I'm a Spanish dancer and dad is my prince Zorro".
Halloween Night at Grandmother and Pops
Zizzy was a hot pepper to complete our Spanish theme.
Zorro sword fighting the Roman soldiers..(Jake and Mark)
Adaliah LOVED trick or treating this year. She got to go at Pete's work and then around Grandmothers neighborhood with her cousins. She was a pro by the end of the night saying trick or treat, thank you, and even doing a darling dance when asked. Adaliah would get pretty scared of a lot of the decorations and costumes. She would say " that's too SPOOOOOOKY (while shaking her whole body).
2 is the best age for Halloween because she LOVED every minute of the evening but the next morning she completely forgot about her bucket of candy. Win- Win!
Now whenever we are at the store or out and about and Adaliah sees somebody dressed extreme she asks loudly "What are they being for Halloween mom?" Very embarrassing.....I quietly have to explain that they are not in costume...

3 months
Elizabeth
is 3 months already! I cannot believe it.
1.She is the happiest, sweetest little thing. She's good to lay around and entertain herself for long periods of time, as long as you smile at her every few mins. She lights right up when you smile at her, and she'll almost always smile back. It melts me.
2. We think she is the cutest thing in the world. (Every parent has the right to think that) Every little noise and face she makes, we want to gobble her up!! She still has high pitched barks when she needs something and lots of cute noises when she's happy.
3) Elizabeth doesn't laugh very much yet- but the few times she has it has been during everyday conversations. It always catches us off guard. The first time she laughed a good hard belly laugh was while Adaliah was telling us a story. She loves her big sister- she thinks she's just hilarious.
3. I have to say- two has been easier then I expected, thanks to a helpful husband and a wonderful big sister. Adaliah is such a good helper and very patient when its time to feed and take care of Elizabeth. Its my favorite thing in the world to watch the two girls interact.
4) Elizabeth is starting to reach and play with her toys. She LOVES her play mat. She still rolls from belly to back and is getting really close to rolling from back to belly.
