3 months

A week late- I know. But here are a few things I want to remember about her being three months.

1. She sleeps 10-11 hrs at night.....STRAIGHT! Yes I know- I am spoiled rotten. She started the first night we got back from Seattle and has done it every night since.
2. She is starting to reach for her toys and put them in her mouth.
3. She is rolling over!! Belly to back.
4. I play “try to make Adaliah laugh” all day long. It’s hard work- but very worth it when you succeed.
5. She is more chill throughout the day. She will entertain herself for 20-30 mins at a time.
6. Pete and I usually know she is awake in the morning because we here really loud sucking and smacking noises. She loves her fingers!!
7. She has grown out of most oh her 0-3

And she keeps getting cuter ever day! I love her!

I love to see the temple

Pete and I decided that we were way over due for a temple date night. It’s been so hard to go together lately!

So we planned it for Thursday….that fell through…planned it for Friday…that didn’t work… so we promised ourselves we would make it on Saturday!

Saturday ended up being a very busy day for both of us. When we got home from our various activities we all fell fast asleep.

When Pete and I woke up- it was already 6:30 pm, Dali was still sleeping, and we hadn’t eaten dinner. It was so temping to cancel our plans again.

But we resisted. We quickly got ready, woke up Dali, fed her, dropped her off and her Grandmothers house, and went to the temple with no dinner. We barely made it in time for the last session.

We had an amazing time at the temple and while we were there we got to meet Elder Dallin H. Oaks and his cute wife Kristen – who I have always really admired. It was incredible.

A cute lady in my sisters ward always says that you never should plan a temple trip out loud - or the adversary will try to keep you from going! I believe it. It seems like something ALWAYS comes up…

That’s what makes it so much sweeter when you do make it. And I always leave the temple wishing that I went more…

And how lucky am I to live within 25 mins of 4 temples?! Very lucky. When I went to Kenya Africa, a lot of the faithful members had only seen pictures in books. Goodness- I have no excuse not to go often.

Speaking of temple's- I get to see one of my best friends be sealed this weekend! I am so excited.

Also- Adaliah is 3 mths tommorow! Wait....what? You're kidding right? She is getting so big!! I will for sure post about that soon- just you wait. :)

My thoughts on being a wife and mother

I have been thinking a lot about my roles as a wife and a mother. It started when I was asked to teach the combine young women lesson on Virture. More specifically on the blessings a virtuous life have brought me and my eternal family.

I spent the whole week praying and studying and hoping that I could help the girls feel the spirit of the topic because I have such a STRONG TESTIMONY of its importance.

Sunday was my first Mother’s Day as a mother and I found myself reflecting on the topic again.

I truly love my role as a wife and all the things that come with it. Ask Pete- It’s been an emotional topic for me since the day we got married. The first time I cooked family dinner as husband and wife at our new little house- I cried like a baby at the dinner table because I was so happy to be a wife. Cheesy I know- but I really love it!

Being a wife is great- but I had no idea what I was missing out on until Adaliah was born. The roles of a mother are just as wonderful and even MORE rewarding..(Especially now that Adaliah smiles at me all day long.)

Yesterday I balanced cleaning the house, doing dishes, doing laundry, working on our finances, paying bills, cooking dinner, and most importantly finding lots of good quality time to play with Adaliah. I even had some time left over to take a nap and have some “me time”.

The rewarding part came when Pete walked in the door to find a happy home where the spirit could dwell and an open night for FHE. It was a perfect day and I went to bed with a sense of accomplishment and pure joy!

I realize I sound a little like “seriously so blessed”…but I seriously do feel so blessed. :) I LOVE being Pete’s wife, I LOVE being Adaliah’s mom, and I LOVE that I have the gospel that has sealed us all together FORVER!!

Seattle Washington

Warning: Picture overload

I had the opportunity to go to Seattle to see my nephew Caleb be baptized. It was SO FUN to be with family. I was very nervous to take a 2 month old on vacation but Adaliah did great! She was so sweet and smiley most of the trip.

Travel Log

On the flight there she was a champ. She didn’t cry or fuss….but she did have a HUGE BLOW OUT. I had to clean her up head to toe and change her clothes in the TINY airplane bathroom with NO changing table. I just laughed- what a memorable first flight. And just in case you’re wondering…yes- her outfit did go in the trash- I wasn’t about to pack that nasty poopy onesie around.

It was so amazing to see my nephew be baptized, I am so proud of the little guy. Here is a picture of 5 of the 6 Armstrong cousins. Caleb-8, Hannah-6, Miriam 3, Lily 10 mths, and Adaliah.

My sisters and I had a so much fun catching up all weekend! They crack me up!

We got to do some of the touristy Seattle stuff after the baptism which was a lot of fun, I had never been there before.

While away- Adaliah started sucking her thumb! She woke up like this every morning on the trip. So adorable!

On the way home Adaliah slept from the second we stepped on the flight until the second we stepped off . What an angel. When we got home, Pete had a surprise for his girls- I think he missed us… a lot. But not as much as we missed him! We had such a fun trip- but it is so nice to be home again.
