A Childs Prayer
Adaliah and I were alone for her bed time routine tonight. Her routine consists of a closing hymn and prayer in the living room, followed by brushing teeth, and then she gets tucked into bed.
Adaliah insisted that both her princess pillow and her doll Alice join us for songs and prayers. Then she insisted that Alice play the piano for our hymn. She sat Alice on the bench to play and when we got done singing she applauded Alice for her wonderful performance.
After a few trys of trying to get Alice to knell for prayer she asked me for help. I knelt her doll next to us and encouraged Adaliah to say it so she could show Alice what a big girl she was.
This was Adaliahs little prayer:
Hevly Fader. Dank you for day. Dank you for food (long pause) and water. Grams coming morrow. Bess Jamie coming. Mama sick. (long pause) name a name a Desus Chris Amen.
It was a prayer from her little heart- and it melted mine. Her Grams is coming in the morning, I have been sick, her Aunt Jamie is staying at our house...and believe me...she is very thankful for her food. :)
After the prayer she jumped up and ran into the bathroom to get her teeth brushed, and that sweet moment had passed. One of my high school friends mothers used to always tell me over and over- "you're going to blink and you'll be a mother, then blink again and your kids will already be grown- it happens so fast". It's true. Life is flying by. I have to savor every last moment.

Fall Family Weddings- Part 1
Dave and Erin 9.10.11
Dave and Erin got married in the Manti temple. After the wedding they had a beautiful outdoor reception at my parents house. There was a fire pit for roasting marshmallows, croquet, and lots of yummy treats made by the bride and groom themselves. It was a beautiful day.

Mark and Dana got married in the Jordan River temple followed by a beautiful outdoor reception as well. They got engaged in China, flew in for the wedding, then flew back to Hawaii where they are currently living. We don't see much of the happy couple- but we are so glad to have Dana as part of the family.

Welcome Home
Halloween was a big day for us this year. Pete and I flew in Halloween morning at around 10:30 am from our trip to Hawaii. We missed the girl more than we ever thought was possible. While picking up our bags- my sister Karen and Dali came running towards us. I thought they were going to pick us up at the curb so I wasn't expecting to see them. I had to take a double take at Adaliah...she had grown SO MUCH in a week.
We got home at around noon and gave Adaliah her "prizes" from our trip. She calls her "Baby Hawaii"
And of course we couldn't pass up buying this for her...

But the real home coming happened later that day at around 3 when Pete's little sister Cecily flew in from Spain from her mission!! Exciting!! We hare so happy to have this girl home!!
She left when Adaliah was a few weeks old... Crazy how much changes in 19 mths.
