Adaliah said what?!?!

Wow- 3 1/2 is a fun age. I cannot believe the things that come out of Adaliah's mouth! Also- cute Adaliah still has a hard time with almost half of her letter sounds- which makes everything that much more adorable. Here are some things I don't want to forget.

1. Her c's- are T's.  Her R's- are W's. Her G's- are D's. Her Th's- are D's, her Q's are T's....
The saddest part is- she knows she is saying it wrong and sometimes it gets her down a little. "Mom- I cant talk good." It breaks my heart. Too young for speech therapy? I don't know.

2. One day at a clothes store she showed a random worker her pretend map she had. "Oh wow, where does your map lead?" the girl asked. "It leads to Helw" (here). "where?!" the girl asked wide eyed. "Helw!" You should have seen the look the girl gave me.  No- I don't have a Satan child that carries around a map to hell, she just can't get those R's.


3. I took her shopping to get some clothes for pre-school. BAD IDEA. Adaliah turned into a total diva in the dressing room. After trying on her first dress she sat and posed in the mirror over and over making smiles and surprised faces and then turned to me and said "maybe this would look cute with a necklace or something?" Say what?! The next dress she tried on she immediately started taking it off, "This dress is just BLAH mom.". Not a big fan of the teenage behavior.

4. Adaliah wants to be playing with friends ALL DAY- EVERY DAY. She is such a social butterfly. Between neighbors, friends, and her cousin living downstairs she usually gets in a few hours a day. Yesterday I asked her if she would play with me, her response... "If you let me play with Lily for a long time- then I promise I'll play with you after." I thought at age 3 moms are supposed to be the number one choice still! Geez...

5. At nursery Adaliah colored a picture of our family. When she gave it to me on the drive home she sang the jingle from Daniel Tiger "Making something, is one way to say, I love you". Yes, I got a little emotional. She is a sweetie when she wants to be. Those Daniel Tiger jingles are always coming out of her mouth at the most adorable times. Another day Pete got cut off in the car and yelled "What in the world! Idiot!" Adaliah chimed in, "Hey dad, if you feel so mad that you want to ROAR, take a deep breath, and count to 4."

6. She still HATES when I do her hair...or even comb it...or wash it. It's a 30 min fight every time- which is why she usually has un-combed hair most days. She asks me all the time if she can get a "short cut". (hair cut) She knows that when it's short it's less work.

7. She has turned the corner from princesses...and is now obsessed with every male Disney character in the book. She's Tarzan for 70% of the day.... she strips down to her panties and runs around the house swinging from vines and patting her chest yelling "ahhahhaha". You think I'm kidding?! This little girl NEVER has clothes on. When I do make her get her clothes back on she is Peter Pan, Robin Hood, or Hercules.  Robin Hood is my personal favorite because she likes to shoot me with her "Shootin- Arrows", and makes the most adorable face when she does it. She wrinkles up her nose and grits her teeth... and shoots a million pretend arrows a min. It makes me laugh every time.  And when she's in character (which is most the day) You have to make sure you call her by her pretend name and refer to her has,  "him, or he". If you don't, she gives you the look... "mom....you forgot....I'm not Dali...I'm Tarzan!"

8. She has an amazing imagination. One day she was Peter Pan and her imaginary Wendy came to Costco with us. She buckled Wendy when we got in the car, she was upset when I closed the van door at Costco because Wendy had not gotten out yet. She shared her Costco Pizza with Wendy and then she was mad when I put things in the cart because "that was where Wendy was sitting".....it lasted for hours.


9. She LOVES PRESCHOOL. She has such a good little memory- we're in week 3 and she can already recite little boy blue, the pledge of legence, and a song about the letter A. What a little smarty pants. We sure love this girl!

10. Adaliah loves to go into her room and surprise me by cleaning it all by herself and getting dressed all by herself. LOVE THIS about her, but it's adorable to see her all dressed up. Shoes on the wrong feet, dress on backwards, jacket on inside out. LOVE THIS GIRL.
